Introduction
(pics: right to left top to bottom 1,2,3,4)
1.Women have endured much through the ages, even pain for the sake of fashion. To look how society thinks they ought.
2.Books and magazines telling them how to look. Men telling women through a medium how they want to perceive them outwardly?
3.Many would say the times have changed (some ways they have). We are now in an age where women can dress and be perceived however they choose, feel good in their bodys (give or take), still being as women as can be. Many female pop icons would say that they are "just being themselfs" in the way they dress. If wearing as little as possible, combined with the attention and money they get by being that way is for themselfs? I would say they are dressing for everyone but themselfs. Or is it just the power of "woman" at play stronger then it's ever been? Don't get me wrong i know they work hard as well. But this is just about fashion. Of course popular culture does not speak for everyone, far from it really. Yet they are the models for many young girls today.
4. Would alot of women say (or never admit) they actually like being told how they should look? How they should be percieved? By others. I would hope to dress for myself. I still want to look good for me though, and to the outside world as well. Who doesn't at least a little tiny bit (well of course some people really don't care at all,and some too much). Their are many things in fashion women have gained over the ages we would never want to lose. Yet has anything really changed for women in fashion, and really entire outward appearance. Is "it" still here dictating to women in a different way (or atleast trying to in some cases). Perhaps thats for an individual to say for themselfs? I am not even sure myself. How does the world and media effect your fashion? If at all. How do you see women as being perceived in todays world fashion wise.
