I was am so excited to share the book, The Paper Bag Princess by R. Munsch, to my 4 year old daughter (and my middle school students).
Anyone have other recomendations for young girls?

Be sure to look at "Sleeping Ugly" by Jane Yolen. Another favorite of mine for middle school students is "Lyddie" by Paterson ( I'm blanking on her first name. It's about the girls in the Lowell mills. In fact, anything by Paterson is wonderful.

Somewhere in my room, I have a list of books with strong female characters. I'll try to find it.
