 Professional Development Workshop in progress, September 24, 2005 |  | Gender issues pervaded the media and education discussion forums this past year. This workshop took on some of these issues through inquiry-based discussion and hands-on participation.The workshop engaged participants in: - In-depth review of the Picturing Women web site as resource and discussion site.
- Creating critical analysis questions revolving around gender and representation.
- Reviewing materials on visual literacy and gender representation (to be distributed at the workshop).
- Forming a network of educators and community group mentors who are interested in exploring representations of women in K-16 classrooms and in after-school groups.
